The Morpho didius, whose common name is Giant Blue Morpho, is a Neotropical butterfly belonging to the Nymphalidae family. The word morpho means changing. This refers to this butterfly’s iridescent (shiny) quality compared to some of its duller relatives in the family of Nymphalidae.
